Scriptures for Anxiety

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a response to stress or a perceived threat. It’s often characterized by feelings of worry, nervousness, or unease. Physically, it can manifest as increased heart rate, sweating, trembling, or difficulty concentrating. It varies in intensity and duration from person to person.

The Bible offers a plethora of scriptures that provide solace and guidance for those grappling with anxiety, offering profound insights and words of comfort that can serve as sources of strength and reassurance during moments of distress and uncertainty.

  1. Isaiah 35:4 Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."
  2. John 4:1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
  3. John 4:14 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

  4. Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my tears.
